How I work
Trust and safety
Starting a therapeutic process and opening up to someone you don't know can make you feel vulnerable. I understand that completely, and I take great care to create a safe and confidential space for change.
The focus of our conversations can vary, and nothing is too big or too small to talk through with a psychologist. I know that the relationship with the psychologist is what matters most, so the method is adapted to you, not the other way round.
The body and feelings
Here at Online Psykologhjælp, I work with relationships. That can be your relationships with others, for example your partner, children, siblings or parents, or your relationship with yourself. I do this because I know that relationships are the foundation for how we relate to ourselves and our feelings.
The aim is for you to understand your emotional patterns better and to gain tools that help you live in a lighter and clearer way: lighter because you are present in the moment, and clearer because you are in touch with yourself.
The framework
I offer a free introductory call, because I know that the relationship between client and psychologist is what matters.
I adapt the course of therapy to your process, so I don't have a standard formula for how much time should pass between sessions, or how many sessions you will need in total. It depends entirely on how your need for therapy develops.
Why online?
Online therapy is just as effective as meeting in person, with the added benefits of being flexible, taking place somewhere familiar, and not depending on where you are or how much time you have. Online therapy lets you keep the same therapist whether you travel, move to another city or have broken your leg. For expats, that also means you can get therapy in English wherever you live in Denmark. I understand that when you reach out to a psychologist, you need help. That is why I keep waiting times short, and I can usually offer you an appointment within a week.
