Subsidies
Many people in Denmark are members of Sygeforsikring danmark, a private, non-profit health insurance association that partly covers costs the public health service does not. Because I am an authorised psychologist, you can get a subsidy from Sygeforsikring danmark if your reason for seeking help falls under one of their 11 qualifying reasons. I do not see GP-referred clients with a public subsidy through the national health insurance scheme (that is done by psychologists with a public-health agreement, known as "ydernummerpsykologer"). However, many people can get a subsidy for sessions with a psychologist through private or employer-paid health insurance. Find psychologists with a public-health agreement here (in Danish).
Contact your insurance company if you are unsure whether you are eligible for a subsidy. In special cases, your municipality (kommune) may also be able to provide a subsidy.
Practical information
Payment is made against an invoice sent by email, with 8 days to pay.
Payment terms
Invoices for services from Psychologist Marlene Lyby must be paid within 8 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payment incurs interest under the Danish Interest Act (renteloven), at 1.5% per month or part of a month, plus a reminder fee of DKK 100 per reminder sent.
Non-payment may result in the matter being passed to a debt collection agency without further notice.
If you have questions about your payment, or would like to discuss a payment plan, you are welcome to contact me. I always prefer an open conversation to unnecessary fees and misunderstandings.
Cancellations
Sessions must be cancelled in advance, no later than 24 hours before the booked time. If you do not attend, or cancel too late, the full fee will be charged.
